Summary and sections 3, 4, 6, and 9 updated on September 25, 2026
The essentials, in five lines
- You own your material and your questions. We do not use your material or your questions to train AI, nor do we make them available to other users. Sending content to AI providers is described in the Privacy Policy.
- Your students' data is yours, and you are responsible for it under the law. We are the ones who store it on your behalf.
- The AI makes mistakes. Every generated question needs your review before it becomes part of an exam.
- Purchased credits never expire, and we don't refund credits already consumed.
- You can export your data and delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are and what we do
EDS TeacherDeck is operated by EDS Soluções Inteligentes, a Brazilian company registered under CNPJ 65.648.474/0001-90. It is a tool that helps teachers generate exams from their own class material, print nominal answer sheets, grade by photo, and track grades in a gradebook.
2. The AI is an assistant, not the author of the exam
Questions are generated by artificial intelligence from the material you upload. AI models make mistakes — in content, in the answer key, in wording — and that's why the product is designed so that nothing reaches a student without passing through you first:
- every question is born marked as not reviewed;
- each question shows the passage from your own material it came from, so you can check it with one click;
- photo grading never guesses: a doubtful mark goes to a review queue instead of becoming a grade.
You are the one who signs the exam. The pedagogical responsibility for what is applied and for the grade assigned is yours, and we do not transfer that to the tool.
3. The material you upload
You remain the owner of what you upload and what you generate. By uploading a file, you represent that you have the right to use it — material of your own authorship, in the public domain, or that you're authorized to use. We store the extracted text, not the original file, for as long as the material stays in your materials bank (until you delete it or delete the account), to generate questions and show where they came from. We also store the figures you attach or generate and the thumbnail of a PDF's first page, as described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not use your material or your questions to train AI models, and we do not make them available to other users.
4. Your students' data — read this part
When you register a class, you start storing here the name, student ID, and grades of real people, often minors. This is personal data, and Brazilian law (the LGPD — General Data Protection Law, Law 13,709/2018) — the primary law governing this service, since EDS Soluções Inteligentes is a Brazilian company — treats this with seriousness. The concepts and rights below will be familiar if you know the EU's GDPR or similar laws elsewhere: LGPD was built along the same lines, and we apply it the same way regardless of where you or your students are located.
In the language of the law: you are the controller of that data — you're the one who decides which students to register and for what purpose. We are the processor (called "operator" under LGPD): we only store and process it as you instruct.
In practice, this means:
- it's your responsibility to have a legal basis for registering those students — normally, the regular exercise of your teaching duties;
- register the minimum: name and student ID are enough. Don't use this space for notes about health, behavior, religion, or family;
- if the institution or a family requests a student's deletion, you can archive the student yourself; permanent erasure of their data is done on request, by the data protection officer (see the Privacy Policy);
- archiving a student removes them from upcoming exams without deleting exams already graded — that's intentional, because a recorded grade is an academic record.
For our part: we store the data of your account, classes, students, grades, exams, and photos on servers in Brazil, we isolate each teacher through database-level rules (one teacher can never access another's class), and we do not sell or rent this data, nor share it with anyone beyond the providers described in the Privacy Policy (infrastructure, AI, monitoring, support, and payment). The exception is a result you decide to publish by link: anyone with the link sees what you release (Privacy Policy, section 9). The Policy also explains what is sent to the AI functions, processed outside Brazil.
5. International users and equivalent rights
EDS Soluções Inteligentes is based in Brazil, and Brazilian law governs this agreement (see section 11). We haven't pursued a formal international compliance certification (such as a GDPR compliance audit), and we don't claim one here. What we can tell you honestly is that the rights LGPD grants your students and you — access, correction, deletion, data portability, and revoking consent — are functionally equivalent to the rights recognized under the EU/UK GDPR, and we apply them the same way to every user, regardless of country. If you are subject to a data protection law that grants you rights beyond what's described in this document and our Privacy Policy, write to us at the contact in section 11 and we'll do our best to address it in good faith.
6. Credits and payment
- Every new account receives free credits to try the product.
- Purchased credits never expire.
- Generating exams, lessons, and figures and grading a sheet with AI consume credits; reading on the device does not. When generating an exam, the cost is shown on screen before you confirm; when grading, the screen tells you afterward which sheets needed AI and cost credit.
- If the AI fails, the credit is automatically refunded. You don't pay for our mistakes.
- Credit already consumed in a successful generation is not refunded — the cost with the AI provider has already been incurred.
- You may request a refund of unused credits within 7 days of purchase, in line with Brazil's Consumer Protection Code and similar consumer-protection principles recognized internationally (such as statutory withdrawal periods for online purchases).
7. What you may not do here
- Upload third-party material without authorization.
- Use the tool to produce illegal, discriminatory content, or content that violates someone's rights.
- Attempt to circumvent credit counting, automate access, or overload the service.
- Register student data without legitimately exercising a teaching role.
8. Availability and limits
We work to keep the service running, but it depends on AI providers and third-party infrastructure and may become unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted availability.
A practical recommendation, and we mean it seriously: print your exams ahead of time and don't leave generating the exam for the night before you apply it.
Our liability, under any circumstance, is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time. Deletion is immediate and removes classes, students, questions, exams, grades, purchases, answer-sheet photos, the logo, figures, covers, and the app's error records. Export beforehand whatever you want to keep — the gradebook exports as a spreadsheet and exams as Word files. Feedback you sent (email and text) remains, unlinked from the account, until you ask the data protection officer to erase it; they find it by email. The technical log of AI calls becomes anonymous: it loses its link to you and no one can locate it. Copies held by other providers — AI providers, Sentry (EU), Telegram, and the backups of Supabase's infrastructure — are not controlled by us and follow their retention; we do not promise a time frame.
10. Changes to these terms
Material changes will be communicated by email and in the app before they take effect. Continued use after they take effect implies agreement.
11. Governing law and contact
Brazilian law applies to this agreement. The courts of the judicial district (comarca) of Petrolina, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, have jurisdiction over disputes that cannot be resolved administratively. If you are located outside Brazil, be aware that this means Brazilian courts and Brazilian law govern the relationship, even though this page is offered in English for your convenience.
